01 Overview

New York is the run we make most out of Philadelphia, and it is short enough that the highway is never the hard part. From Center City it is roughly 95 miles up the NJ Turnpike, across the river, and into the city on I-95 — an easy single-day haul for our trucks. What earns its keep is the curb work at the far end: a brownstone block in Brooklyn or a no-parking stretch off a Manhattan avenue is a lot like loading a South Philly rowhouse, just stacked higher.

Heading out of the tri-state? Philadelphia movers keeps the whole move on a single truck with one crew, priced in writing.

A cross-river crew that does this lane daily

Pro Tri State holds authority in PA, NJ, and DE, so crossing the Ben Franklin and running the Jersey side is ordinary work for us, not a special trip. Owner Anthony Russo came up moving freight at the Port of Philadelphia, and the NYC corridor is on our truck board most weeks. That means before we leave your block in Fishtown or Rittenhouse, Gina has already pulled the building’s COI and Sean has the elevator and dock window reserved.

What we sort out before the truck leaves Philadelphia

  • Street-parking permit on the Philly end where there is no driveway and no stoop room
  • Trinity and rowhouse stair-carry handled by Pat’s walk-up crew before anything hits the truck
  • Destination COI filed with your NYC building and elevator or dock time locked in
  • Shuttle planned in advance if a full-size truck cannot reach a narrow city door

The same uniformed crew loads in Philadelphia and unloads in New York — nothing is handed to a second outfit, and nothing waits at a warehouse. You get one flat rate that already covers the Turnpike tolls, the bridge, fuel, and labor, with a $125 deposit credited at the end and $1M in cargo coverage riding along the whole way.

How this run goes · ~95 mi

A single crew and truck run the whole haul, GPS-tracked door to door on one binding flat rate. We pin down your delivery day and hold it — no outside hands ever touch the load, and the figure on paper is the figure you settle.

02 Why us

The name on the contract is the name on the truck

When you book Pro Tri State, it is our paperwork you sign, our rig that parks on your block, and our own movers carrying the load — nobody hands your job off. A broker does the opposite: auctions it to the cheapest bidder of the week, then disappears.

Pro Tri State Movers
  • Full-time, background-checked movers on our own trucks — never a day-labor pickup
  • Your flat rate goes on paper and stays there — the signed figure is the settled figure, to the dollar
  • Load-out and unload are the same crew, beginning to end
  • Licensed in PA, NJ & DE plus USDOT/MC for interstate, and fully insured
  • One Philadelphia office and one contact, from the first call to the last box
What a broker does
  • Sells your move to whichever carrier underbids the rest this week
  • Lets the price climb on move day with fees nobody mentioned up front
  • Sends people you have never met to carry everything you own
  • Leaves it murky whose insurance is actually on the hook
  • Stands a phone bank between you and whoever finally shows up to lift

Questions we hear about this route

Does this whole move wrap up before the day is out?
For most rowhouses and apartments it does. The lane is only about 95 miles up the NJ Turnpike and across into the city on I-95, so we load in Philadelphia first thing, run the corridor, and have you set up in town the same afternoon. A loaded four-bedroom is the exception that occasionally tips into a next-morning delivery, and we flag that at the quote rather than on moving day.
My building has a freight elevator and a COI rule — do you sort that out?
That side is handled before the truck rolls. We run this lane every week, so Gina files your destination Certificate of Insurance, books the freight-elevator and dock window, and if a 26-footer cannot reach the door we plan a shuttle in a smaller box truck ahead of time. The crew wrapping your furniture on a Philly stoop is the same crew carrying it up in the city — your goods ride on our own truck and are covered to $1M in cargo protection the whole way.
When you say flat rate, do the bridge tolls and Turnpike charges live inside it?
They do. Crossing into Jersey and running the Turnpike means tolls, and we fold them into the single binding flat rate we quote, alongside fuel and the crew on both ends. A $125 deposit holds your date and credits straight back to the final bill.
