01 Overview

Packing done by our crew, not a midnight scramble the night before

Packing is the part of a move everyone underestimates. A three-bedroom in South Philly or a twin out in Media holds far more than it looks like it should, and the night-before rush with liquor-store boxes is precisely how the good plates end up in pieces. Pro Tri State packs homes the way we move them — our own trained, uniformed crew, the right materials, and a method that survives the rowhouse stairs and the bridge tolls between here and the new place.

Across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware, Philadelphia, PA movers runs every move on one written number, with no add-ons after the truck loads.

Whole house or just the hard rooms

Some clients want every room boxed and labeled so they don’t lift a thing. Others hand us the kitchen, the china cabinet and the artwork — the breakables that eat the most time and cause the most worry — and pack their own closets. Either way it’s the same crew on the same $155/hr or $215/hr clock, so you only pay for the work you actually want done.

Labeled so the unload knows where it’s going

In a rowhouse with three floors and a winder stair, a box marked for the wrong room is a wasted trip up and back — and on a city block, the truck can’t sit there all day while you sort it out. We label room by room and keep an inventory, so the new place fills the way it should instead of becoming a guessing game in the front hall. If the move crosses the bridge into Jersey or Delaware, that labeled inventory rides with the same crew, so nothing gets lost between two states.

  • All cartons, dish-packs, wardrobe boxes, paper, bubble and tape supplied — nothing for you to source
  • Custom crating and protection for art, mirrors, electronics and stemware
  • Optional unpacking and flattened-box haul-away after the move
  • Up to $1,000,000 cargo coverage per shipment, $0.60/lb released-value standard, full-value optional

Tell us how much you want us to handle. A $125 deposit holds your packing and moving dates and comes off the final bill.

What’s included

  • Trained, uniformed packers of our own boxing the entire house — or only the rooms you'd rather not deal with yourself
  • We supply every material — cartons, dish-pack kits, wardrobe boxes, paper, bubble and tape — so there's nothing for you to track down at the store
  • China, stemware, framed art, mirrors, TVs and electronics each get protection cut to the piece
  • Packing labor runs on the same crew clock as the move itself — $155/hr puts two packers on it, $215/hr puts three
  • A room-by-room labeled inventory means the unload into a tight-stair rowhouse goes to the right floor the first time around
  • Up to $1,000,000 in cargo coverage per shipment, with $0.60/lb released-value standard; unpacking and box haul-away are available if you want them

How we set the price

Following a short walkthrough or video estimate, we set one flat rate from the inventory you actually have — never an hourly clock. Whatever that sheet reads is the entire price, with nothing tacked on later.

02 How we protect your move

We treat your things the way we would our own

Every truck shows up stocked with pads, film, and floor runners — set to wrap furniture, guard hardwood, and cushion the breakables in tight Philadelphia rowhouses, trinity walk-ups, and Center City high-rises alike.

Quilted pads

Dressers, tables, and headboards get pad-wrapped in place, every one of them, before the first piece ever leaves the room.

Stretch film

Wrapped tight against road grime and humidity, drawers hold shut and upholstery rides clean across every bridge and mile.

Floor & doorway guards

Nobody lifts a box until the runners, rail wraps, and jamb pads are down, so hardwood, banisters, and trim finish the day untouched.

Built-to-fit crating

Mirrors, glass tops, framed art, flat screens — each one rides in a crate we build to its exact dimensions, corners and all.

Break-down & rebuild

Anything oversized — bed frames, dining tables, sectionals — breaks down for the ride and goes back together once it is inside the new place.

Straps, dollies & gear

Narrow rowhouse stairs, trinity winders, and the heaviest pieces each get the right tie-downs and equipment — no shortcuts on our truck.

03 Why us

The name on the contract is the name on the truck

When you book Pro Tri State, it is our paperwork you sign, our rig that parks on your block, and our own movers carrying the load — nobody hands your job off. A broker does the opposite: auctions it to the cheapest bidder of the week, then disappears.

Pro Tri State Movers
  • Full-time, background-checked movers on our own trucks — never a day-labor pickup
  • Your flat rate goes on paper and stays there — the signed figure is the settled figure, to the dollar
  • Load-out and unload are the same crew, beginning to end
  • Licensed in PA, NJ & DE plus USDOT/MC for interstate, and fully insured
  • One Philadelphia office and one contact, from the first call to the last box
What a broker does
  • Sells your move to whichever carrier underbids the rest this week
  • Lets the price climb on move day with fees nobody mentioned up front
  • Sends people you have never met to carry everything you own
  • Leaves it murky whose insurance is actually on the hook
  • Stands a phone bank between you and whoever finally shows up to lift

Questions we hear about this service

Can you just pack the kitchen and the breakables and leave the rest to me?
Absolutely — a partial pack is one of our most common bookings. Plenty of Philadelphia clients box their own clothes and books and hand us the kitchen, the glassware, and the artwork, which are the slow, nerve-wracking parts. It runs on the same $155/hr or $215/hr crew clock, so paying us only for the rooms that matter keeps the bill sensible.
Do you pack the day before or the morning of the move?
For a full house we usually pack the day before, so move day stays on schedule and the truck loads clean and tight — which matters when the truck has to stage on a narrow rowhouse block and can't sit there all afternoon. A small apartment we can often pack and move in one morning. We lay the timeline out when we quote, and a $125 deposit holds both days if you need them.
If something breaks in a box, is it covered?
A carton our crew packed travels under the same protection as everything else on the move — the standard $0.60/lb released value, full-value coverage available, and up to $1,000,000 in cargo coverage per shipment. The lone exception is a box you packed yourself; we can't insure its contents against breakage on the inside, which is precisely why people hand us the fragile rooms to begin with.
