01 Overview

When the dates don’t line up between two Philadelphia moves

It happens on more Delaware Valley moves than people expect: your lease ends before the new place is ready, a rowhouse settlement gets pushed a week, or the buyer needs you out early and the keys to the next house aren’t in your hand yet. Suddenly there’s a whole household and nowhere to put it. Pro Tri State built short-term storage to cover exactly that gap — we load the home, keep it safe, and bring it back when your timing finally works out.

Across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware, Philadelphia movers runs every move on one written number, with no add-ons after the truck loads.

One company holding your things, not a stranger’s warehouse

The difference that matters here is who has your furniture in between. With us it never leaves the company. Our own crew pads and wraps everything, loads it, and stores it under our roof, and our own crew brings it back out — no transfer to a self-storage unit you have to load yourself, no third party touching your shipment while you wait.

However long the gap turns out to be

Sometimes it’s a long weekend between closings. Sometimes it’s two months while a renovation finishes or a cross-river move to Cherry Hill or Wilmington gets sorted out. The terms flex either way, and we keep a written inventory so every piece that goes into storage is accounted for when it comes back out. You’re not signing a year-long self-storage lease for a few weeks of gap, and you’re not the one loading and unloading the unit twice — that’s the work we’re handling.

  • Load-in and redelivery both billed at $155/hr for two movers or $215/hr for three, no minimum
  • Furniture pad-wrapped and shrink-wrapped before it’s stored
  • Whole cost — both move days and the storage — quoted before you commit
  • Up to $1,000,000 cargo coverage per shipment, $0.60/lb released-value standard, full-value optional

Tell us roughly how long the gap might be, and where the home is starting and ending up. A $125 deposit holds your original load date and comes straight off the final bill.

What’s included

  • The same Pro Tri State crew loads the whole household and parks it in clean, secured storage for the stretch between your two move dates
  • Load the home, store it, redeliver it — all one company, so your furniture never gets handed to a stranger's warehouse
  • On both the load-in and the redelivery, crews bill at $155/hr for two movers or $215/hr for three, and there's no one-hour minimum
  • Anything going into storage is pad-wrapped and shrink-wrapped, and every piece is logged on a written inventory before it goes in
  • The terms bend to your gap, whether that's a long weekend or a couple of months between closings
  • Up to $1,000,000 in cargo coverage per shipment, $0.60/lb released-value as standard, full-value available

How we set the price

Following a short walkthrough or video estimate, we set one flat rate from the inventory you actually have — never an hourly clock. Whatever that sheet reads is the entire price, with nothing tacked on later.

02 How we protect your move

We treat your things the way we would our own

Every truck shows up stocked with pads, film, and floor runners — set to wrap furniture, guard hardwood, and cushion the breakables in tight Philadelphia rowhouses, trinity walk-ups, and Center City high-rises alike.

Quilted pads

Dressers, tables, and headboards get pad-wrapped in place, every one of them, before the first piece ever leaves the room.

Stretch film

Wrapped tight against road grime and humidity, drawers hold shut and upholstery rides clean across every bridge and mile.

Floor & doorway guards

Nobody lifts a box until the runners, rail wraps, and jamb pads are down, so hardwood, banisters, and trim finish the day untouched.

Built-to-fit crating

Mirrors, glass tops, framed art, flat screens — each one rides in a crate we build to its exact dimensions, corners and all.

Break-down & rebuild

Anything oversized — bed frames, dining tables, sectionals — breaks down for the ride and goes back together once it is inside the new place.

Straps, dollies & gear

Narrow rowhouse stairs, trinity winders, and the heaviest pieces each get the right tie-downs and equipment — no shortcuts on our truck.

03 Why us

The name on the contract is the name on the truck

When you book Pro Tri State, it is our paperwork you sign, our rig that parks on your block, and our own movers carrying the load — nobody hands your job off. A broker does the opposite: auctions it to the cheapest bidder of the week, then disappears.

Pro Tri State Movers
  • Full-time, background-checked movers on our own trucks — never a day-labor pickup
  • Your flat rate goes on paper and stays there — the signed figure is the settled figure, to the dollar
  • Load-out and unload are the same crew, beginning to end
  • Licensed in PA, NJ & DE plus USDOT/MC for interstate, and fully insured
  • One Philadelphia office and one contact, from the first call to the last box
What a broker does
  • Sells your move to whichever carrier underbids the rest this week
  • Lets the price climb on move day with fees nobody mentioned up front
  • Sends people you have never met to carry everything you own
  • Leaves it murky whose insurance is actually on the hook
  • Stands a phone bank between you and whoever finally shows up to lift

Questions we hear about this service

Our closing dates don't line up — can you hold everything for a few weeks?
That's exactly what this is for. It happens on a lot of Philadelphia moves: the rowhouse settlement slides, or the buyer needs you out before the new place is ready. We load the home, keep it padded and secured in our storage, and bring it back when your dates finally meet — a few days or a couple of months, whichever it turns out to be.
How is short-term storage priced?
Two parts: the crew labor on each end bills at the usual rate — $155/hr for two movers, $215/hr for three — and the storage itself goes by how much you're holding and how long it sits. We put the whole thing in the quote up front, both move days plus the storage, so the total is in front of you and there's no back-end surprise when it's time to get your things back.
Will the same crew bring my things back out?
Yes — your shipment stays inside Pro Tri State the entire time. The crew that pads your furniture and loads it into storage is our crew, and our crew brings it back to the new address when you're ready. A $125 deposit holds the original load date and credits to your final bill.
