01 Overview

One Philadelphia crew on your shipment, the whole way

Leaving the Delaware Valley for good is a big move in every sense, and the place it usually goes wrong has nothing to do with miles. It’s the handoff. With most long-distance outfits your things get loaded here, trucked to a terminal, unloaded, stacked with strangers’ freight, reloaded onto whatever rig is headed your direction, and rehandled by people who never set foot in your home. Pro Tri State does it the other way: the crew that carries your couch down the rowhouse stairs in Philadelphia is the crew that carries it up the stairs at the other end.

Across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware, Pro Tri State Movers runs every move on one written number, with no add-ons after the truck loads.

A licensed carrier, not a middleman

We hold our own USDOT and MC interstate authority on top of being licensed in PA, NJ and DE, which means we are the moving company — not a broker selling your job to the lowest bidder. Tyrese Carter runs our long-distance board, sets the route and the timing, and stays your one contact from the morning of the load to the day it’s delivered. You always know where the truck is and who’s on it, because it’s our truck and our crew the whole way.

Where we run from Philadelphia

We move families to the close cities and the far ones alike — New York at about 95 miles up the Turnpike, Baltimore and Washington down I-95, Pittsburgh across the PA Turnpike, and Boston up the corridor. We also run the long hauls south and west to Charlotte, Chicago, Atlanta and Orlando, where the single-crew, no-terminal way of doing it matters even more — that’s a thousand miles where nobody else should be touching your shipment.

  • Pricing set by home size and real road miles, quoted as a firm band up front
  • A guaranteed delivery window fixed when you book, not left open-ended
  • Written inventory at the curb so nothing gets lost in a terminal that doesn’t exist
  • Up to $1,000,000 cargo coverage per shipment, $0.60/lb released-value standard, full-value optional

A $125 deposit holds your load date and credits to the final bill. Give us the destination and the home size and we’ll send the band back the same way every time — honest and in writing.

What’s included

  • Whoever loads your home in Philadelphia is on the truck at the far end too — no terminal handoff, no shifting your shipment onto a stranger's rig partway
  • Tyrese Carter, the lead on our long-distance board, owns the route, the schedule, and the one phone number you call from load day to delivery
  • Before the doors shut, everything gets pad-wrapped, shrink-wrapped, and written into an inventory, so what rolls out is what rolls off
  • We carry our own USDOT and MC interstate authority alongside the PA, NJ and DE licensing — a licensed carrier in our own right, not a broker passing your move down the line
  • Your delivery window is fixed at booking, not left as some open-ended 'sometime in the next two weeks'
  • Up to $1,000,000 in cargo coverage rides with every shipment; the $0.60/lb released-value is standard and full-value coverage is available

How we set the price

Following a short walkthrough or video estimate, we set one flat rate from the inventory you actually have — never an hourly clock. Whatever that sheet reads is the entire price, with nothing tacked on later.

02 How we protect your move

We treat your things the way we would our own

Every truck shows up stocked with pads, film, and floor runners — set to wrap furniture, guard hardwood, and cushion the breakables in tight Philadelphia rowhouses, trinity walk-ups, and Center City high-rises alike.

Quilted pads

Dressers, tables, and headboards get pad-wrapped in place, every one of them, before the first piece ever leaves the room.

Stretch film

Wrapped tight against road grime and humidity, drawers hold shut and upholstery rides clean across every bridge and mile.

Floor & doorway guards

Nobody lifts a box until the runners, rail wraps, and jamb pads are down, so hardwood, banisters, and trim finish the day untouched.

Built-to-fit crating

Mirrors, glass tops, framed art, flat screens — each one rides in a crate we build to its exact dimensions, corners and all.

Break-down & rebuild

Anything oversized — bed frames, dining tables, sectionals — breaks down for the ride and goes back together once it is inside the new place.

Straps, dollies & gear

Narrow rowhouse stairs, trinity winders, and the heaviest pieces each get the right tie-downs and equipment — no shortcuts on our truck.

03 Why us

The name on the contract is the name on the truck

When you book Pro Tri State, it is our paperwork you sign, our rig that parks on your block, and our own movers carrying the load — nobody hands your job off. A broker does the opposite: auctions it to the cheapest bidder of the week, then disappears.

Pro Tri State Movers
  • Full-time, background-checked movers on our own trucks — never a day-labor pickup
  • Your flat rate goes on paper and stays there — the signed figure is the settled figure, to the dollar
  • Load-out and unload are the same crew, beginning to end
  • Licensed in PA, NJ & DE plus USDOT/MC for interstate, and fully insured
  • One Philadelphia office and one contact, from the first call to the last box
What a broker does
  • Sells your move to whichever carrier underbids the rest this week
  • Lets the price climb on move day with fees nobody mentioned up front
  • Sends people you have never met to carry everything you own
  • Leaves it murky whose insurance is actually on the hook
  • Stands a phone bank between you and whoever finally shows up to lift

Questions we hear about this service

Does my furniture get loaded onto a different truck somewhere along the way?
No. That terminal transfer is exactly the part of long-distance moving we built the company to avoid. Our crew loads your home in Philadelphia and the same crew drives it to the new place, whether that's New York at 95 miles or Orlando at a thousand. Nobody you've never met rehandles your shipment at a warehouse in the middle.
How do you price an interstate move out of the Delaware Valley?
By home size and road miles, not by a vague poundage guess. A studio to New York runs in the $1,050 to $1,650 range; a four-bedroom to Boston at roughly 310 miles lands closer to $7,200 to $10,100; a full house out to Chicago near 760 miles is more again. We quote a firm band off your inventory and the route, so the number doesn't move on you mid-trip.
Do you actually run the long hauls yourself, or hire it out?
We run them ourselves. Pro Tri State holds its own USDOT and MC authority and our drivers cover the whole route. The load date is reserved with a $125 deposit that credits back on the final invoice, and if the $0.60/lb standard feels thin for a cross-country leg, full-value coverage with up to $1,000,000 in cargo protection is yours for the asking.
